What Is Roulette?

Roulette is a game with a wheel of 36 numbers and a 0 (on some American tables there’s also a 00). A croupier sends a small ball spinning around the wheel and bets are placed on the table, correlating to the slots it can possibly land in.

Outside bets are the best bet for beginners, as they cover broader areas of the table and offer lower payouts. Inside bets are riskier, but offer much higher payouts.

Variations

There are several variations of roulette that offer different payouts and betting options. The most popular variations are European Roulette and Double Ball roulette. Both games follow the same rules and have the same house edge of 2.7%, but European Roulette offers more 0s and has a lower RTP. Other variations include Lightning Roulette, which features payouts of up to 1:12,000 for a straight bonus win and Triple Bonus Spin roulette from IGT, which delivers higher payouts for even money bets.
